This is one of the harder Revel's records to find. I seem to only ever turn up "Church Key", which is a great instrumental. Dig this exotic tune called "Intoxica!"

Country Bop On ABC-PARAMOUNT
Found this one lying around in a box I've had for years. This is a pretty good uptempo country bop/western swing record on ABC-PARAMOUNT. I don't really see too much country music on the label other than George Hamilton. I was suprised to hear it be so good. Take a listen!
Louie Meyers & The Aces
Woah! Found this killer blues harp instrumental in Southeast Illinois on my way to Bloomington, IN! Rare Chicago blues label ABCO with other releases by Arbee Stidham and Freddie Hall. When I cued up this piece of wax I was blown away to hear what I thought was Little Walter. Louie Meyers was Little Walter's guitar player and I assume he picked up a big harp playing influence on him. Both sides are killer. I have also found out that Fred Below plays drums on this cut. Another fantastic 50's Chicago blues record. DIG!

Puddle Jumper.....
Junked this 3 months ago. "Puddle Jumper" is a great rockabilly/R&B tittyshaker instro. Great guitar and sax give it that greasy sound. I dropped the needle on it and I knew I had to have it. Ember is a hard label for me to turn up. I usually only see the The Silhouettes or The Five Satins, with that being said I'm gonna pick up anything out of the ordinary. I don't have any information on Davey Dee and The Mudcats, so if any of you readers and listeners have any then please send it my way. Give this a spin. DIG!
The Original Big Guitar!
I acquired this from a friend of mine in the last few months. I believe this is the original version of "Big Guitar", like Owen Bradley's. I like this version better. I'm not sure if this record is hard to find but I've never come across one in wild. Just another great record on the DOT label. Take a listen!

Natural Born Lover
If I remember correctly I picked this one up a few months back on my way to Bloomington, Indiana. On that trip I picked up some great blues and R&B. Got a Louie Meyers on ABCO out of Chicago and a Dandeliers on STATES......some big doo wop and blues pieces. This one I guess I forgot to listen to before filing it away into an oddball box. I was cleaning out boxes this week and threw this one on! Wowza! What a killer! This is my style of an R&B popcorn song. Great horns, killer blues guitar, and fantastic vocals! Has this been comped? There should be a repro of this. What a dynamite tune. Take it for a spin!

The Girl On The Match Box Cover
A friend of mine passed this my way some months ago. Wildcat is fantastic looking label and I don't think I would ever pass a record on it. "The Girl On The Match Box Cover" has great country travis picking and is quite a nice hillbilly bopper. I really like the lyrics to this song, for some reason it reminds a little bit like "The Girl On The Billboard". One of the great records on this label is "Country Boy" by The Rel-Yea's like Bill LaMont's cut on Okeh. Overall this Duke Bowman cut is a great tune. Dig!
